Top 16 - First elimination show

So the night started off with a Dave Scott routine which I actually really liked, I'm not usually a fan of his choreography, and I couldn't keep my eyes off Russell. He definitely outshone everybody else, and I still feel like some peoples performances aren't believeable.

I wasn't shocked that any of the couples were in the bottom three, but I was shocked that Karen and Kevin were in the bottom three over Mollee and Nathan. I figured they would be in the bottom WITH Mollee and Nathan.

I don't get why people are stunned though when the couple that had the "better" dance and "better" critique land in the bottom three over the couple that did bad the night before. Remember last year when Jeanine and Phillip dodged the bottom with the horrible tango but landed in the bottom when they did Love Lockdown, a dance that was praised by the judges and well-loved by the audience? There has to be some element of surprise or it will be predictable.

What bothers me is the comments Nigel made about Nathan. I've been in love with Nathan and an avid fan since I saw him audition season five, and I resent the fact that Nigel think that we're all just a bunch of crazed fan girls who think Nathans hot. Yes, Nathan is unbelievably gorgeous but its his talent I fell in love with. I love his lines, his musicality, his quality of movement, and of course his incredible technique and amazing fouettes. It was after I saw him dance that I realized how attractive he was, and no it didn't hurt. But in my eyes, being a fellow dancer, the dancing always comes first. But when you base a show off not just strictly technique, to people who don't know as much about dance, looks can play a big part in votes and thats not Nathans fault at all. And I don't understand what was wrong with Nathan saying "I feel hot" the night before, he was just trying to bring some positivity into all the negative energy that had just been spread around. Poor Mollee though, she's gonna get trapped in Nathans shadow if she doesn't start stepping up and speaking up for herself. And Nigel, maybe you should get laid. You always mention your ex-wife, is that why you're so bitter towards everyone else? All I know is if Nigel bashes Nathan again, we're gonna have some problems. His talent and looks go hand in hand.

When Pauline was eliminated, I was in shock. I think Karen is great, but she's not really a SYTYCD star, maybe more for DWTS. Her personality isn't anything to get excited about and I honestly think she's getting by on being "spicy" and "sexy." She is definitely no Janette Manrara, I'll tell you that. Ellenore blew that hip hop piece but her style is so unique and she finds a way to keep her technique right in there too. Yes, Pauline may be a competition dancer but so was Jeanine Mason, along with quite a few others in season five. I don't believe Pauline ever took a wrong step, and I believe she was meant for SYTYCD and the top 10. She was my favorite this season and there will definitely be something missing next week, and I have a feeling the judges will be sorry about their decision later.

I am going to be biased when I say I wish Ryan would've gone home, simply because he is the only guy this season that I'm not a fan of. His solo was the first time I payed attention to him and it was not good at all. It was boring and lacking any kind of substance and I'm starting to think him and his wife (Ashleigh) are both wax figures. I think the bottom was a good place for Kevin to shine again, so I don't think it did anything but benefit him. I was growing to love Peter, such a sweetheart, and actually pretty amazing for someone who is only formally trained in tap.

Peter and Pauline will both be missed, I thought they would at least go to top 12, and I'm starting to see this season loose all hope. Nigel was right about one thing, this is NO season five, and all the hype they made about season six was made way too early and now none are living up to expectations. I suggest they all get together and watch season five, take some tips from Jeanine, Ade, Janette, Phillip, and the rest of the top 12, as a matter of fact the top 20. At the way the show is going now I'm starting to think it won't even be around for a season eight for me to audition. I hope they've learned this week and can pull it together next week.

  1. I agree with almost everything you said, everything except for Kevin...I just can't get my self to like him. I don't know what it is but everything about him just annoys me. Season 6 is a disappointment so far, Jeanine and Phillip stole my heart the FIRST week with the FIRST dance. I don't even really remember a lot from the first week of this season..I hope things get better, but I honestly don't think they will. It wouldn't be SUCH a disappointment if they didn't hype up dancers that CLEARLY aren't that great. If I was past seasons I would be offended. I didn't watch the first season, but all the other ones have been better than season 6 so far. ESPECIALLY season FIVE :)
Okay I'll stop rambling now lol

  2. Hah okay I'm not gonna lie I liked Kevin first because I think he is HOT. I think he's an average hip hop dancer, and pretty much just average. But I would prefer him over Ryan anyday, because he really does have star quality. I didn't fall in love with season five at first, I hated it and I thought wow this could never top season 4 but I think I was just being biased over loving season 4 so much. With this season, somethings lacking and I agree about the past seasons being offended, season 6 should know the drill by now and they are not stepping up their game like they need to be.
Now I'm done rambling hahah :)

  3. Yes I agree, I was HOPING Ryan went home last night. He's the "eye candy" of the show, and he isn't even that cute. Yeah he has a body, and he even hast nice teeth, but he's annoying. He should have went home after bombing that hip hop dance. I dislike kevins hair, idk braids just don't do it for me :/
Season 6 has two strikes against them, the OVER-hype that they were given. Also the fact that this season started basically RIGHT after season 5 ended, and season 5 ended on sigh a high note it's hard for people to fall in love with a whole new group of people again. Especially people who are being called "the best" and are throwing out mediocre performances. They should have waited until the tour was over to start a new season. Sadly, I don't see a long life for sytycd. If season 6 doesn't get it together then I only see about one more season after this one. :/

(you'll learn to love that my blog comments are often WAYY to long, sorries lol)
